Original mixed-media painting

Description

The Secret Forest of Time is part of my Worlds Within series, which explores the idea that even the smallest forms can contain entire worlds of their own.

At first glance, the painting reveals soft, flowing shapes that resemble the petals of a flower, emerging from a dry, cracked surface. Warm pastel tones and earthy shades of burnt umber create a gentle, inviting atmosphere.

But when looking closer, tiny forests begin to appear along the petals and stems. These miniature landscapes seem untouched and unexplored, as though they have existed quietly within the larger forms all along.

The contrast between the cracked surface and the delicate, fluid shapes suggests the passage of time, while the small forests introduce a sense of life, continuity and discovery.

For me, The Secret Forest of Time is about the hidden richness of the world around us. Something that appears simple or familiar from a distance may reveal an entirely different reality when we take the time to look closer.

Created with acrylic, oil, ink, marker and modeling paste, the work combines fluid painting techniques with sculptural textures and delicate details.

Part of the Dreams collection.
